I was shopping in New World, Lunn Ave, Mt Wellington. Went to pay for some goodies that came to $20.10. I had two $20 notes. The checkout lady put her hand in her own pocket and pulled out 10c and gave me the second $20 note back. How nice is that!
I bought an item on Sunday and returned it with the invoice two days later as it didn't fit my child. I was horrified to discover that I received $7 less as a refund than the amount I'd paid. I was advised that the item had since been reduced so I was given the current selling price in return. Is this good and acceptable business practice?

World of Wearable Arts exhibition at the Auckland Museum is a wonderful showcase of some of the amazing talent that we have in New Zealand and abroad.
Can someone please explain why the first tennis matches of the day almost always start well after the scheduled start time? As an example, Friday afternoon's play was scheduled for a 3pm start and it was closer to 3.15pm before the players even arrived on the court - then they warmed up! By the way, the umpire was in place in time for the scheduled start!

Over the New Year, I was admitted to the emergency department at Auckland City Hospital. The ambulance staff, the staff at the hospital and the volunteer carers in the ED all gave me the best care and attention. At all times they were respectful and professional. We always seem to hear the negatives, but experiencing it for myself I found we are so lucky to have a first-class health system.

Clean Green NZ. I think not!
I was disappointed at the state of the eastern end of Eastern Beach, Howick, early last Sunday morning. Broken bottles, mountains of empty food packets, chicken bones and the like. Do these people have no respect for the country they live in, not to mention the danger of having broken glass everywhere? The beach is well provided with rubbish bins. Failing that, take your rubbish home. I have never been more disgusted by a public place in a long time. People, get a grip and look after God's Own.
