While I appreciate the road toll needs to come down, I am hard-pressed to see the value in giving motorists a speeding ticket for driving 6km/h over the limit (doing 86km/h) on what is normally a 100km/h stretch of motorway temporarily designated to 80km/h. It's difficult seeing major roading accidents appearing in our news happening outside the city while police are concentrating on accidental speedsters in temporary, low-speed spots.

To the Chorus technician who spent three hours removing the snap-crackle-pop from our house phones, part of the time up in the roof on a hot day, then came down and warned us we had a badly eroded junction in our water line - many thanks indeed!

Why do branded items such as Converse shoes have to be so expensive? I went to buy some Converse shoes for around $100 but quickly returned them because I saw the same style shoes (of course without the Converse logo) for only $12 at the Warehouse!

I would like to say how beautifully the Auckland Girls Choir sang at the Armistice Day Service at Auckland War Memorial Museum. Under music director Leonie Lawson, they performed an incredibly moving rendition of You Raise Me Up as well as hymns for the service. We are so lucky to have such wonderful musical talent being developed among our youth in Auckland. I can't sing a note in tune - how lucky we have these wonderful groups who can.
