A big thank you to the Fullers ferry officer who helped my husband, who has Parkinson's disease. He was upset when he got on the wrong ferry and was lost in the Auckland terminal. She not only made sure that he went on the correct ferry, she also quietly went to those waiting at the Bayswater end to ensure that I was there to meet him. Thanks for your kindness.

Neilson St, Onehunga, is busy during the week - factories, workshops, pedestrians, cars parked on both sides of the street and trucks turning, entering and leaving driveways. A 50km/h limit is sensible. Come weekends and public holidays it is deserted.
On Sunday at 9.30am, a police camera van and two police cars were picking up drivers going over 54km/h. What a revenue gatherer for a street that is less crowded and busy than some arterial roads that have a 60km/h limit. Be wary travelling on this road.

Thanks to Quentin, the off-duty parking officer, and the car-load of young men who were kind enough to push my car out of the middle lane of Green Lane West Rd on Sunday afternoon. The engine had overheated and I was stuck waiting for the AA. Their thoughtfulness and goodwill did my heart good.

Sending a birthday card from Warkworth to Morrinsville allowing plenty of time. Seven days. Yes, if you have correct postage. Couple of millimetres and 80c is insufficient. Said item is returned to my letterbox. So beware Christmas senders, NZ Post has no Christmas spirit and the card doesn't reach its destination.

Thumbs up to the kind person who handed in my car key at Botany Town Centre on Saturday. It had decided to part company from the set and fortunately I wasn't using the car that day so I didn't get stranded but I was glad to have it back. They are not cheap to replace. Thank you!
