In reference to the Pakuranga carpark spaces, it will not make any difference how wide the parking spaces are. The inconsiderate drivers will still get you. I have had my Nissan Avenir since 1993 and the only scratches and dents are from supermarket parks. I now sit in my car while my wife shops. This seems to deter those inconsiderate drivers and saves me some dents and scratches.

My car broke down on the Northern Motorway in the far right lane during rush hour traffic on Tuesday evening. I'd like to thank the lovely gentleman on the motorbike who stopped and helped me push my car to the side, and the lovely young man who pulled over to have a look under the bonnet. I would also like to thank the people heading south who yelled out their windows at me, "it will be all right!" You all made a bleak situation so much more bearable.

Shame on the driver of the big black ute who forced me off my bicycle yesterday while turning left across me at the Cockle Bay School roundabout. Despite my frantic loud banging on the side of the ute as I tried to fend it off and protect myself, it failed to stop to see if I was OK or apologise.

I was with a group of four cyclists who encountered a seriously steep set of stairs at the base of the track that leads up from the bottom of the Pt Erin Park to the path that directs you on to Curran St. Two well-dressed lovely people, whose names we didn't get, offered to help us carry our bikes to the top. Our bike ride was made more memorable by meeting you. Thanks a million.

I am surprised that luxury cars from Germany are not fitted with indicators. Every time a car turns unexpectedly in front of me my first thought is "why didn't they indicate" followed a second later by "oh wait, it's a (Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche ... ) so doesn't have indicators".
