Family visiting from UK were very excited to have tickets to the world darts champs final at the Trusts Stadium. I dropped them there and they insisted they would get a taxi back. After the show, there were many taxis there. Unfortunately not one would bring them back to Waitakere, saying "don't know where that is mate". Ironically they have just retired and had their own cab business. They had a great night, but were wet, cold and puzzled as to why not one taxi would consider a 25-minute round trip?

For the third time in two years I have spent time in Middlemore Hospital. The level of care and attention to detail displayed by all staff left me feeling extremely well cared for and cherished.

I work in customer service and have almost accepted the fact that adults have all but forgotten the word "please" and then can't even be bothered to say "thank you" either. We're people, not your slaves. Use your manners, please! Thank you!

At Army Bay Beach I noticed a boxer dog having a winter swim, except after at least half an hour in the water, it became totally disoriented and kept heading out to sea. After the owner drove home to get his kayak, a woman walking asked what was wrong and without any hesitation dived into the freezing sea and swam out to the now exhausted dog well off shore and dragged him back to the beach. One very relieved, limp dog was saved thanks to a wonderful gesture by a passerby. You were great.

This morning I came across a used disposable nappy, thoughtfully disposed on the edge of my property, neatly wrapped in a plastic bag so it wouldn't even decompose. It's unimaginable to me how people can expect others to put up with it.
