While Mercury Energy is trying to tempt people to switch with "free power days", it hasn't forgotten its existing customers, unlike some other companies. November 1 was a "free" day for existing customers, which was a nice and appreciated gesture. Thank you, Mercury Energy.

I caught the Southern Line train this morning, and it was full. I was shocked to see bicycles are allocated three seats on both sides.

I picked up my prescription at the pharmacy last week, then made my way to the mall. Before going into the supermarket, I sat down to do some internet banking on my phone. I then spent 15 minutes or so in the store. As I went to the checkout, a young man in Massey High School uniform approached me. "Excuse me," he said, "did you leave this?" He held out my bag from the pharmacy, which I had left on the seat outside. What a wonderful action from that young man, to search for me so diligently!

Is it just me, or is anyone else sick of the never-ending nonsense of just about anything having to have a hashtag? Why on earth do we have to have the damn # in front of a subject? What is it supposed to mean? Do I have to get more excited, or pay more attention because of the #? It's right up there with Baby on Board stickers on cars!

Had occasion to travel to Whangarei and took the bike because it needed a run. After I stopped for coffee, the battery could not take any more. I called Planet Honda, who, although they did not stock a big enough battery, sent a young man to get me mobile. Along to Suzuki, who also did not have a suitable battery, but tracked one down at another dealer. Wrack Auto then dropped everything to help. Great service from both these guys and Suzuki. Under way again, I returned to Planet Honda to pay for the call-out. "Forget it mate," was the reply, "only too happy to help." Amazing service.
