A passenger became very unwell on Air NZ Flight 458 on Tuesday night and the crew were amazing. Obviously well trained and drilled, they worked as a team to handle the situation. It's so easy to write cabin crew off as trolley dollies, but I know which airline I'd want to be flying if there was an incident.

Dave B, I cannot believe your arrogance. Bank staff are trained to deal with these situations but, unlike you, they think of others as well, namely the customers who are not behind screens. People who commit these robberies are charged up, agitated and highly unpredictable. The sensible and safest way to deal with the situation is to obey their demands and have them leave the area ASAP. What if your demand of "show me your gun" is taken up? Then what do you suggest? Staring down the barrel of a gun is something you never forget and I suggest until you have, leave the security advice to the experts.

Huge thanks to the team at CourierPost in Invercargill. I recently sent a package from Auckland to Invercargill with an incorrect address. The staff at CourierPost tracked me down and left a message on my answerphone to contact them so that they could update the address and complete the delivery. Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted the message. Not to be deterred, having not heard from me, the staff then tracked down the recipient, contacted her and made arrangements for the package to be uplifted. Well done, CourierPost Invercargill.

Is there any reason the bus stops on both sides of the Great South Rd, opposite the Super Clinic, could not be linked by a light-controlled pedestrian crossing? Getting safely across four lanes of traffic is nigh impossible.
