Who on earth thought that it was a good idea to manufacture and sell LED bicycle headlights which have the same illumination power as the shipping lighthouse on Tiritiri Matangi Island? The use of these strobe lights, even during daylight hours, can be dazzling to oncoming traffic (both motor vehicles and other cyclists). Sure, LED technology is a winner with more light being produced with less power consumed, but does a cyclist's headlight really need to be seen from 5km away? Cyclists, please use less bright headlights or at least tilt the light downwards so oncoming drivers aren't temporarily blinded by the mobile supernova bolted to your handlebars.

If you want to be around positive attitudes and wonderful people, go to Auckland City Hospital's Radiation Department and experience the caring, thoughtful way of all doctors and staff, and the smiles of patients. Thank you all, you are the very best.

Whatever has happened to the Auckland CBD rejuvenation? Since the beginning of this year, the streets in the CBD have been looking dirtier and dirtier. Food, drink, and vomit stains everywhere, and Queen St is piled with litter. Get on it, council, and make our city one to be proud of!

Just watched another superb Tuesday night documentary on Maori Television - this week was Bhutto. Tuesday night at 8.30 has been a must-see for weeks now and will continue to be. The mix of documentary, news, current affairs, interviews and movies without endless adverts means we have a channel to be truly proud of and worth watching. Well done to all staff.

I'm a college student and I think there is way too much rubbish on the ground, for instance next to bins, on the beach, and in carparks and supermarkets. If you want to walk your dog along the beach, it could step on bottles and cut its feet all because people don't care and just throw their rubbish wherever. If each of us tried to be a bit more respectful and have a bit of basic knowledge about the effects of litter, imagine how much money could be saved for more important services?
