I went to purchase Australian dollars yesterday at 1.30pm but was told the woman at the bank with the key to overseas currency was at lunch and no other person, even the manager, could access it. I was asked to come back in an hour when that person would be back from lunch. I couldn't believe that one person in the whole bank had one key to access overseas currency. Bad customer service!

Last Friday, my wife had a nasty fall in Crowhurst St in Newmarket. I would like to thank everyone who rushed to her aide, including the passing nurse, the man who rang for the ambulance and the people who brought towels and comfort. You were all wonderful and your assistance was greatly appreciated by me in such a stressful situation.

Why do parents allow their offspring to scream at the top of their lungs, continuously for hours? It is not self-expression. It is noise pollution. It is jarring and offensive to all ears other than those in the screamers' households. Yet one more discipline today's parents have abrogated.

This morning, my husband and I took the Inner Link bus into the city. My husband realised on our way home he had left his satchel and umbrella on the bus going in and we asked the driver when we were boarding the Outer Link where we would inquire about lost property. The driver, Paul, gave us a phone number to ring and said the office was off Fanshawe St. As it was not too far, we said we would walk there. Paul said he was ending his shift and would be going there so to stay on the bus and he would drive us from Victoria Market to their office. The staff in the office were also very friendly and helpful and we will be phoning later to see if the items have been handed in. Thanks, Paul and all the other Link bus drivers.
