Christine Rankin has indicated she will not be seeking leadership of the Conservative Party.
This comes after former leader Colin Craig offered to stand down yesterday.
Ms Rankin, resigned as chief executive of the Party after last September's election, but has remained a member of the Party's board.
In a statement released this afternoon, Ms Rankin indicated that leadership of the Party was not something she would be interested in.
"Whilst the leadership of the Party is not something I would not be interested in myself, I support the selection of a new leader and have faith that the board will make the right decision."
