Auckland City Council chief executive David Rankin has landed a short-term job at the Super City paying $125,000 for two months' work.
Mr Rankin has been appointed interim chief executive of Auckland Council Property Ltd while the search for a permanent chief continues.
As a result of some deft moves by Auckland City Council to hold on to him after his contract expired on June 30, councillors offered him a sweetener of a $50,000 pre-tax bonus and extended his contract until December 31, worth a further $75,000.
Mr Rankin missed out on the top job at the Super City. The job of Auckland Council chief executive went to businessman Doug McKay.
North Shore City chief executive John Brockies has been appointed interim chief executive of another CCO, Auckland Regional Facilities.
