Two men accused of murdering Rangiora man Tony John Lochhead in an alleged armed robbery last month have pleaded not guilty and will stand trial in a year's time.
Mr Lochhead, 51, was fatally stabbed and his brother Peter Graham Lochhead was hospitalised with injuries after an altercation at their shared White St home about 9.30pm on September 13.
The two accused - a 36-year-old man from rural Canterbury and 39-year-old man from Christchurch - entered not guilty pleas at a High Court hearing in Christchurch this morning.
They are jointly charged with murdering Tony Lochhead, and wounding his brother Peter in the process of leaving the alleged aggravated robbery.
Justice Robert Dobson granted continued name suppression for them until December 6 when it will again be reviewed. The reasons for continued suppression cannot be published.
