Play swept from one end of the field to the other over the next five minutes as the two teams desperately sought the winning try. Finally Braden Kassim split the defence for Rams White, streaking away to score the winning try to the cheers of the rapturous supporters.
So the under-10 grand final will be very much a State of Origin affair, mate against mate.
Rams were represented by three teams in the quarterfinals of the under-8 competition and Rams Black secured their semifinal spot with a win over Greytown.
They will be up against Rams Grey in the semis after they had a solid win over Carterton.
Unfortunately for the Rams Whites, however, they just failed to make it into the top four, losing 4-3 in the final seconds of their game with Gladstone.
In the under-13 grade, Rams Black made it into the grand final with a victory over Greytown at the Colombo Road grounds but the Rams White team went down in a closely-contested fixture with a fired-up Martinborough combination, thereby reversing the result of their previous clash.
The Rams under-9s found Carterton too strong in a high-scoring game and the Rams under-6s came up with three wins and a loss to continue the excellent form they have shown all season.

Under-6: Rams White one win, one loss; Rams Black two wins.
Under-8: Rams White one draw, one loss; Rams Black two wins; Rams Grey one win, one loss.
Under-9: Carterton 45 Rams 15.
Under-10: Rams Black 40 Martinborough 35, Rams White 30 Gladstone 25.
Under-13s: Rams Black 59 Greytown 17, Martinborough 22 Rams White 12.
