A Christchurch doctor facing charges that he indecently assaulted male patients can now be named.
Rakesh Kumar Chawdhry, 61, worked as a GP at the Riccarton Clinic until December last year.
He was arrested in June on indecent assault charges and he appeared at Christchurch District Court where he was granted interim name suppression.
His suppression was lifted by a district court judge and unsuccessfully appealed by his lawyer Paul Wicks QC to the High Court.
Chawdhry has pleaded not guilty to 13 charges of indecent assault and one of unlawful sexual connection and elected trial by jury.
