Maurice Williamson may have been prophetic with his infamous "big gay rainbow" speech.
There is going to be an enormous one over Auckland tonight.
Rainbow lights will be switched on at the Sky Tower, Museum, the gantry at Silo Park and the Cloud.
They will mark the closing week of Auckland Pride Festival, which culminates with the Pride Parade on Ponsonby Rd and closing party at Victoria Park on Saturday.
Tamati Coffey and Louisa Wall will be on hand to lead the celebrations on the Museum steps as the rainbow lights are switched on, in sync, at 9pm.
