The MetService has issued a heavy rain warning north of the Bay of Islands.
Forecaster Oliver Druce said up to 100mm of rain is expected between now and tomorrow morning.
A band of heavy rain and thunderstorms is moving onto the far north of Northland this morning and should then move slowly further south, MetService said.
