Canterbury is likely to miss out on the downpour of rain it needs.
Several heavy rain warnings are in place for parts of the South Island tomorrow and but no significant rain will reach Canterbury.
MetService Forecaster Paul Mallinson says we should expect a repeat of the heavy rain which recently hit the South Island but this time it's moving a lot faster.
He says as the front passes tomorrow the Canterbury foothills may receive a short burst of rain.
"Although there's not really hope of very much rain, there may be some rain moving through Canterbury, but I don't think it'll amount to very much."
