Radiographers continue their industrial action throughout the country today and the Auckland and Waikato District Health Boards are warning patients to expect delays as some services are suspended.
X-rays, CT and MRI scans will not be carried out at Auckland City Hospital over the weekend following a walkout by radiographers in support of a pay rise. However, a service will still run for emergency cases.
The hospital says there is particular concern for older people who need help and who may choose not to seek medical attention because they do not want to cause a fuss.
It says people with urgent needs will get first priority in the Emergency Department, but anyone not in a life-threatening situation should contact their GP.
Radiographers in Waikato have issued a work to rule notice from 4pm today until midnight Sunday.
