Hayden Tinsley gave medical staff at Palmerston North Hospital a scare when he had a seizure on Saturday night.
Tinsley was admitted after a heavy fall from Outback Fox in race four at Awapuni earlier in the day.
The talented jockey's partner, Carla Hearn, said Tinsley had the seizure while undergoing a series of tests.
"They weren't sure whether it was a reaction to the morphine or because of his injuries. But the CAT scan proved all was well."
Tinsley required morphine when admitting to an intense level of pain after the fall.
"He got very badly bashed around - it was a bad fall," said Hearn.
He will miss the Ellerslie carnival as a result of the mandatory three-week stand-down period for jockeys suffering concussion.
One of the potentially biggest losses will be missing riding talented mare Lylakin in this weekend's Manawatu Cup.
