Taupo is "99 per cent confident" the A1 Grand Prix will roar into town again next year.
David Steele, the managing director of the company which operates the track at Motorsport Park, said the series organisers were enthusiastic about having Taupo as a venue and were pleased with the way the competition was run.
Officials had already had several meetings with A1GP representatives.
