A forensic examination into the suspicious death of a teenage girl in Hamilton yesterday has raised more questions than it has answered, police say.
A post-mortem examination was carried out in Auckland today after the 17-year-old's body was found at a house on Te Aroha St shortly after 4am yesterday.
Inquiry head Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Patterson said further examinations were required, which could take several days to complete.
"Until those examinations are concluded we will be unable to ascertain the nature of the woman's death so we will continue to treat the matter as suspicious until we have evidence that proves otherwise.''
Mr Patterson said an examination of the Te Aroha St property and the area around it was continuing today.
