Auckland carpentry apprentices have until June 29 to enter the 2005 Apprentice of the Year competition, promoting the building and construction sector as a great field to train and work in.
The competition, which aims to foster and encourage apprentice training and development, will be run in Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Waikato and Wellington this year.
Registered Master Builders CEO Chris Preston said that four other regions had been added because of the success of the Wellington region competition last year.
"We're looking forward to the competition this year and the opportunity for apprentices throughout New Zealand to get the opportunity to participate," he said.
Apprentices wanting to take part should complete an entry form and submit it to their Registered Master Builders Association. Up to 10 apprentices from each of the five regions will be chosen to progress to the final stages of the awards.
For more information or details on how to enter, contact Carters stores, Building and Construction ITO or registered master builders, or visit www.masterbuilder.org.nz to download a brochure and entry form.
