A bar manager has been charged with assault after an attack described by Queenstown police as vicious and prolonged.
Police were alerted to CCTV footage of the assault, which occurred on October 17, and arrested the bar manager manager today.
He was charged with assault with intent to injure.
Another staff member is also expected to be charged.
Sergeant Blair Duffy said the victim was removed from the bar in Cow Lane, Queenstown and assaulted, then "dragged further down Cow Lane where he has received further punches to the head".
