Topshop's first Auckland CBD store will be in the Q&V Building opposite Whitcoulls on Queen St.
Nathan Male, retail leasing agent of Metro Commercial, who leased the premises, said the ground and mezzanine floors of the building, which had been occupied by ANZ, would become the New Zealand flagship outlet for the clothing retailer.
Topshop's move into 203 Queen St on the Victoria St corner also marks its entree into the CBD. Only a small range of Topshop and Topman has been sold previously at Takapuna.
Jamie Whiting, managing director of the new venture and also Barkers managing director, said the building's facade would be changed, something the retailer had done on many other sites around the world.
Male said the shop would be about 995sq m, similar to JB Hi-Fi further up Queen St. Topshop will trade from ground and mezzanine levels and lease the basement for storage and other functions.
