An earthquake measuring 3.8 struck near Matata in the Bay of Plenty last night at 9.49pm.
GNS Science recorded the quake as being centred 3.8km from the township at a depth of 5km
Also an earthquake measuring 4.2 struck near Wanganui at 6.29pm yesterday evening.
GNS Science recorded the quake as being centred 20km south of the city at a focal depth of 15km.
