Minor earthquakes rattled two different parts of New Zealand overnght.
GNS Science reported a shallow tremor of 3.3 on the Richter scale at 9.15pm 10km northwest of Matata in central Bay of Plenty at a depth of 5km.
Three minutes later sensors recorded a 3.2 quake 10 km west of Twizel in the South Island's Mackenzie Basin at a depth of 15km.
The tremor at Twizel was the second of the day for the small town - it was shaken by a 4.9 magnitude quake at 5.46am.
