KEY POINTS:
An earthquake shook the Bay of Plenty this morning.
GNS Science said the 6.19am magnitude 4.1 quake was centred 10km south west of Te Kaha, 70km north east of Opotiki, and was 50km deep.
The tremor was probably felt in the Te Kaha area, GNS said.
