KEY POINTS:
An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale has struck 20km South-east of Dannevirke.
The quake happened at 11.29am and had a focal depth of 40km, according to the GNS website.
By 2.15 this afternoon, 29 homes and businesses had reported feeling the quake from Marton in the north to Rangitumau in the south.
