Quake strikes outside Wellington

An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter Scale struck Wellington this evening.

GNS Science said today the quake hit 10km south of Porirua at 5.16pm at a depth of 30km.

It was widely felt in the the Wellington region, GNS said.
