An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Fiordland this afternoon.
It was part of a series that have rattled the region since a 7.8 Richter magnitude earthquake - the biggest in the world this year - hit last month.
The latest quake hit 100km west of Te Anau at 4.25pm at a depth of 5km, GNS Science said.
