Quake shakes Bay of Plenty

An earthquake measuring 4.2 struck the eastern Bay of Plenty at 3.18pm yesterday.

The quake had a depth of 8km and was centred near Matata. It was felt in surrounding areas, including Kawerau, Edgecumbe and Whakatane.
