KEY POINTS:
Fiordland was rocked by an earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale overnight.
The quake struck about 40km north-east of the Milford Sound at 11.46pm and had a focal depth of 12km.
It was felt as far away as Wanaka and Queenstown.
