A heartless email fraudster is using the Christchurch earthquake as a pretext to dupe people into revealing confidential banking details.
The email message, addressed to "Dear Kiwibank Customer" and sent from "Kiwibank Limited", starts by offering sympathy to quake victims.
But then it says that "due to the Canterbury earthquake we have lost some of our customers' internet banking details".
And it tells recipients to click on a link to enter "your access number, password and keepsafe details correct [sic] so we can help you update your account".
