Quake of 4.6 rattles East Coast

East Cape was shaken by a 4.6 magnitude earthquake last night.

GeoNet reported a preliminary magnitude after the shake just before 11pm.

It was centred 15 kilometres west of Ruatoria and had a depth of 36km.
