Quake hits near Te Anau

A 4.7 Magnitude earthquake has struck 50km north-west of Te Anau.

The quake hit last night at 9.34 and had a focal depth of 100km.

It was reported throughout Central Otago and as far east as Momona, south of Dunedin.

The quake had attracted 28 reports on the GeoNet website by this morning.
