KEY POINTS:
The eastern Bay of Plenty township of Matata was shaken last night by a quake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale.
The quake struck last night at about 10.30pm, 10km north of Matata.
It was widely felt in Whakatane and has so far received 59 reports on the Geonet website.
