KEY POINTS:
An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale jolted parts of Bay of Plenty this morning.
The quake at 11.30am was centred within 5km of Matata, northwest of Whakatane. It was at a depth of 5km and would have been felt at Matata, GNS Science said.
