A quake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale was widely felt in the Manawatu region last night.
The quake struck 20km east of Palmerston North at 8.40pm and had a focal depth of 30km.
Less than 12 hours later it had been reported by 195 people across the Manawatu region, according to the GNS website. The quake was reported in eastern Whanganui and as far south as Paraparaumu.
