Another small earthquake rattled the South island this morning, the third in as many days.
The Institute of Geological and Nuclear Science GeoNet Data Centre in Lower Hutt said the tremor was noticed at 10.05am and centred 30km southwest of Haast at a depth of five km. It measured 3.2 of the Richter Scale.
On Friday Christmas Eve festivities in Ranfurly were briefly interrupted by a small earthquake.
The tremor, measuring 3.9 on the Richter Scale, struck at 9.44pm and was "very noticeable", according to one holidaymaker.
The earthquake was centred 10km south of Ranfurly at a depth of 12km.
An earthquake measuring 3.5 was recorded at 5.45am yesterday was felt in North Canterbury. It was centred 10km west of Greta Valley at a depth of 12km.
There were no reports of damage caused by the quakes.
