A plane preparing for take-off at Wellington airport clipped an air bridge this morning.
A Qantas spokesperson said 73 passengers were transferred to another plane which eventually took off for Auckland around an hour later than the scheduled 6.30am departure time.
"When the engineers pushed the aircraft back from the stand with the tug -- before the engines were turned on -- they clipped an air bridge," she said.
There was no damage to the bridge and "extremely minor damage" to the aircraft.
She said the plane was due to return to service early in the afternoon.
