A Qantas flight attendant smuggled cocaine from Auckland to Sydney in her bra, a court has been told.
Suellen Cryer brought the drugs from Los Angeles to Auckland in an overhead locker above business class seats while she worked, Sydney District Court was told.
It is alleged she then stayed the night in Auckland, using some of the drugs at a hotel and stuffing two bags of the drug into her bra before boarding a Sydney-bound Qantas jet as a regular passenger.
The Daily Telegraph reported that she was caught soon after arrival in Sydney.
Cryer, 54, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of importing a marketable quantity of cocaine (136g).
Giving evidence yesterday, the veteran flight attendant -- who was sacked from her $A80,000 ($NZ85,600)-a-year job -- admitted bringing the drugs into Australia but insisted she had no intention of selling them.
She maintained the cocaine was to feed her addiction.
In March last year, she travelled to LA with $A4000, intending to buy a wedding present for her daughter. Instead, she used the money to buy cocaine, which she then decided to bring back to Sydney.
Cryer said the drug dealer -- "Bobby" -- suggested she smuggle the drugs in her bra.
"Because of the shape of the bags... because I happen to be a little bit big-breasted, he said they would fit under my breasts,' she told the jury.
During a search of Cryer's southern Sydney home, police found more cocaine, a number of resealable plastic bags and a box used to store kitchen scales, the court was told.
Cryer denied the items were used by her to sell drugs.
She said large deposits made into her bank account were the result of several big wins on the poker machines.
