Police are appealing to students celebrating the end of the school year to be sensible with alcohol after an 18-year-old was caught driving away from a party four times over the legal limit.
North Shore Area Commander Inspector Les Paterson said police were called to Long Bay on Monday night where students were partying after the high school break-up before exams.
"The really disappointing thing was that most of them were drinking alcohol while getting around in cars."
Mr Paterson said police understood why students were celebrating and tried to be lenient. However, one girl could not be ignored and she was found to have an alcohol reading of more than four times the legal limit.
The legal limit for under 20-year-olds is 150 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath and 400mg for over 20-year-olds.
It is understood the girl blew 650mg. She will now be charged and could face penalties including fines, disqualification and jail.
