Masterton Intermediate School pupils dressed in red for a charity mufti day on Friday, raising more than $550 for the Heart Foundation of New Zealand.
Teacher and event co-ordinator Juliet Olson said each pupil who came in mufti was to bring a gold coin donation and wear red for the Heart Foundation.
There had been an excellent turnout on the day, she said.
Red has long been part of the MIS student uniform, which remains part of the new logo and strip launched for the school this year.
Wairarapa heart health advocate Kit Cohr said the Heart Foundation was a not-for-profit charity that helps to prevent Kiwis dying prematurely from heart disease.
