Police hunting two kidnappers who dressed as police during an armed home invasion in south Auckland last month are warning the public not to approach them.
The home invasion in Pakuranga at 6.30am on September 10 left an Asian family terrified.
Police said today they still needed public help to find two men, Floyd James Te Tai and Neil Kevin Paul.
Detective Sergeant Karen Malthus said the two men should not be approached and people should call the police if they saw them.
"There are concerns about their behaviour and the fact that weapons were used," he said.
Following the home invasion, police found a shotgun and a pistol.
The family has moved out of the house because they were so scared. "They were terrified. They are still terrified," Ms Malthus said. "They do not feel safe at home."
As the kidnappers left the house they are alleged to have pointed their guns at police who had just arrived.
Anyone with information should call police on (09) 272 0915 or 027 6712 370.
A 20-year-old Howick man was due to appear in court today on charges of kidnapping, aggravated robbery and several other related charges.
