The public memorial service for author Janet Frame will be held in the Dunedin Town Hall at noon on Saturday.
Prime Minister Helen Clark and Governor-General Dame Silvia Cartwright will speak at the service. Several of Frame's literary contemporaries and friends are also likely to attend and contribute.
A city council spokesman said the service would reflect Frame's wide-ranging interests, "extraordinarily" broad musical tastes and sense of fun.
