Dressed in their best All Blacks shirts, young rugby fans got to put their skills to the test on the pitch where their heroes reclaimed the Webb Ellis Cup.
Eden Park yesterday hosted an open day so that people, in return for a gold coin donation, could kick a ball around for fun and experience for themselves just what it's like to play on Auckland's famous grounds.
And while the stars of the pitch weren't there themselves, their legacy was felt, as Mia Hooton, 7, from Epsom discovered while sitting in Piri Weepu's spot in the changing rooms.
Eden Park chief executive David Kennedy said all proceeds from the open day would go to St John.
"St John works tirelessly across all sporting codes.
