The response to the plight of three young New Zealand women whose film project was ruined by a motel theft has enabled them to offer a $1000 reward for the return of their gear.
One of the trio, Kate Logan, said that since the Herald reported the theft of audio disks for their film, well-wishers had sent donations and suggested that the original $200 reward be increased.
The film-makers' room at the Airport Lodge Motel in Mangere was burgled about 3am on December 13.
A bag with 15 mini-disks was taken. The disks contained recorded interviews made in 32 countries for an environmental documentary Kotahi Ao, which means "there is one world". A notebook listing the names and addresses of people interviewed during nine months' of work was also taken.
