Manukau City Council is going to the top in a bid to get rid of street prostitutes in the city, revealing yesterday plans to submit to Parliament a bill to allow it to pass bylaws to restrict street prostitution - therefore giving police the power to arrest anyone who does not comply with those bylaws.
Councillor Dick Quax said places including Hunters Corner in Papatoetoe and Manurewa had been plagued with several problems associated with street prostitution.
