Property scam arrest

A woman suspected of operating a property scam in Auckland has been arrested.

The woman, 29, was allegedly breaching bail while awaiting sentencing on 15 charges of obtaining by deception after fraudulently sub-letting properties to prospective tenants last year.

The tenants met the woman at properties believing she was the owner.

They paid her bond money to secure the properties but struck trouble when they went to move in and could not get hold of her.
