Property developer Mark Lyon has had his bail hearing on firearms and other charges adjourned to today.
The 49-year-old is charged in the Auckland District Court with carrying an air pistol and presenting an air pistol at Ashif Memon on Tuesday.
Police were called to a waterfront apartment complex on Tuesday after a man using an ATM reported having a gun pointed to his head.
An area around apartments in Quay St was cordoned off and traffic diverted along The Strand and Tangihuia St while armed police entered the apartments.
A 17-year-old was also arrested and charged with possessing a cannabis pipe. He will reappear in court on Monday.
Lyon was remanded in custody after he appeared in court on Wednesday but his bail hearing before Judge Robert Kerr was adjourned yesterday afternoon.
His lawyer, Barry Hart, said Lyon was under intense family and emotional pressure and if bailed could live with his son and his son's girlfriend at a rural property. The address was suppressed.
He said Lyon was also prepared to see a psychiatrist.
Lyon, who sat barefoot and dishevelled in the dock yesterday afternoon, is also facing unrelated charges stemming from a police call to Orakei on Sunday morning.
He faces a count of assaulting property developer Brent Douglas Clode, a former Olympic kayaker, with intent to injure him.
Lyon was also charged with possession of the Class B drug Ecstasy and of having a samurai sword and a hunting knife with intent to use the weapons to commit an offence involving the threat of violence.
